Speed Potions Quest

Everyone should be using speedpots! Why?

1. They make getting through a precast 10 times easier.
2. They make getting away from baddies 10 times easier.
3. They make long boring walks through castles 10 times faster.

Here's how you can have these hax pots too!

1. The Man (Pickpocketer) can appear in one of 3 different locations at a time.

Location A: (lighthalzen 240 216)

Location B: (lighthalzen 220 169)

Location C: (lighthalzen 164 127)

2. When you come within 2 tiles of the Man, you'll activate a message. Every time a Pickpocket message pops out, you'll lose a little bit of zeny. (If you have 0z, you won't lose any money :] ) After he disappears you need to move 3+ cells away and move back. That way when he reappears the dialog box will automatically pop up.

3. If you activate him at either location A or B, there's a 33% chance you'll catch him pickpocketing you. Once you find out he pickpockets, he'll flee from Location A to Location B or vice versa with 75% chance; or Location C 25% with chance.

4. If you activate him at location C, there's a 20% chance you'll catch him pickpocketing you. He has nowhere to escape, but you forgive him. He will later sell you something that "will produce strong power for your lower part body."

You can choose to buy from 1 to 3 Speed Potions, (15k per bottle). He later will appear at either Location A or Location B.

You only have that 20% chance the first time you're doing the quest that day. (If you leave the map or relog or something I believe it'll reset and you'll have that 20% chance to catch him again)

After you catch him, every time he pops up after that while you're there you catch him 100% of the time. So this way you can set up a lot of slaves whenever you're farming your speeds. Saves a lil bit of time. Just remember to move 3+ cells away and move back within his 2 cell range after he disappears so when he does reappear again the dialog box will automatically appear again.

Once that dialog box appears, even if he diappears, you'll be able to go through the conversation and buy the 1-3 speed pots. So this is why you can use multiple chars and not have to worry about the npc leaving before you get to the char.

The NPC always disappears and moves to a different location after the conversation dialog is finished.

Cooking Guide

The Quest
In the land of Rune-Midgart there is a chef who is famous for his skills so much that he has earned the favor to be the official Court Chef of King Tristam III. This chef is Sharle Orelean, and now he is offering his knowledge out to aspiring chef's.

To start down the path of a fine chef requires a few things,

first a short journey to the kitchen of Sharle Orelean, which is located in Prontera Castle, directly down the stairs left of the entrance.

Secondly what else could a chef need except a Chef's Hat? (Made by combining 120 Piece of Cake + 450 Dragon Scale + White Dyestuffs + 330 Feather) After completing these two things equip your chef hat and

talk to Sharle, he will give you a test to gather the items for one of the level 1 cookbook recipes. After you gather the required items and give them to him, you will be able to talk to Marlene Sheu, the sous chef who will give you some outdoor cooking sets and the level 1 cookbook. This will also open up the option to buy the outdoor cooking sets and the home cooking sets. You can't but the home ones until you finish the quest though.

Let's Cook!
The cooking system is very similar to the creation system that alchemists use to make potions. To begin you must have the items that the dish requires, then you click the utensil that you are going to use. Standing may give a better chance of success (unconfirmed).

Note: If you do not have the correct amount of items and cookbook that the recipe requires, you will lose your cooking set.
If you have items for multiple recipes a menu will be brought up letting you choose which dish you want to prepare.

After you complete all the recipes in the level 1 cookbook talk to Marlene Sheu, the sous chef again and he will evaluate your culinary art (you need one of each level 1 dish in your inventory), he will then ask you to look for a friend of his in Payon (Rice Cake Boy 209, 127) and give him some wrapped food to test, when you return he will give you some of the level 2 home cooking set.

Talk to Sharle Orelean again (don't forget your chef hat) and he will open up the option to borrow other cookbooks. But of course this isn't the Library of Prontera, Sharle will impose a small fee for switching cookbooks with you.

Sharle only has 1-5 level cookbooks that he lends out. Anything beyond that requires adventurers to set out and find on their own.

Level 1 Cookbook - another book + 10 Pumpkins
Level 2 Cookbook - another book + 5 Well Baked Cookies
Level 3 Cookbook - another book + 5 Sushi
Level 4 Cookbook - another book + 5 Dumpling
Level 5 Cookbook - another book + 10 Shoot
Level 6 Cookbook - Orc Lady(0.06), Requiem(0.02), Pirate Skeleton(.10)
Level 7 Cookbook - Evil Druid(0.0Cool, Deathword
Level 8 Cookbook - Gemini-S58, Deathword (mobs not in)
Level 9 Cookbook - Turtle General(4.00), Deathword
Level 10 Cookbook - Maya Purple (does not currently drop)

The Cooking Sets- the better the set, the better success rate.
Outdoor Cooker: Buy in the Prontera Kitchen (500z, no discount)
Home Cooking Set: Buy in the Prontera Kitchen (1000z, no discount)
Deluxe Cooking Set: Magnolia, Miyabi Ningyo, Orc Lady, Violy
Court Cooking Set: Alice, Tengu
Legendary Cooking Set:

The Food
When you eat cooking items you recover a certain amount of HP and SP and your stats are increased depending on the level of the cooking item that you have eaten.
They last for about as long as an attack speed potion, which is 20 - 30 minutes. The effect is still on if you die (not sure about logout)

Some of the ingredients are dropped only by monsters including:
Cacao: Yoyo, Wootan Shooter
Strawberry: Yoyo
Orange: database says yoyo..but...i think the monkeys are hoarding 'em
Lemon: Leaf Cat
Shrimp: Leaf Cat
Red Chile: buyable in ayothaya (related to the tomyomgong quest?)
Fig Leaf:
Prickly Fruit:
Izidor:

La Bonne Chance...
chance seems to be the same as forging/pot making, base/job/dex/luk being factored in. Cooking while standing seems to be more reliable then sitting.

Sunglasses Quest

I honestly wonder why when we search the internet for a sunglasses[1] guide we tent to fail to find one that quick. I also wonder why ratemyserver didn't add a sunnies quest in their quest database for some reason. Well, a lot of people are now benefiting from the quest while others lose zenny. Why? people who know the quest sell the sunglasses [1] for a ridiculous amount and claiming that it is hard to make when in fact it is so easy!

What you need are:
1 1 carat diamond
50 feathers
1 sunglasses[0]
500k

first you have to talk to a girl named Sunglasses trader in alberta (89, 193) and give her:

50 feathers
1 carat diamond
100k

after you give her the feather she gives you the location of the Maseph the actual sunglasses maker at moc_fild09(210,128). Now give the sunglasses to Maseph and 500k and bingo you now have sunglasses slotted!

You can now proceed to Maseph to create the sunglasses [1] without going to the sunglasses trader in Alberta anymore.

You just need to come to her with the following:
50 feathers
1 sunglasses
500k

That's all, more guides to come here in Ragnarok Job guides!
