FAQ of Ragnarok and Common Terms

FAQ of Ragnarok
This interview was a test of my patience and I decided to write a guide based on all the little things new players don’t know about woe and RO in general (yes, this was an actual interview with an actual player).
Interview with a Newbie
New Player: how to join guild?
New Player: :S
Sonja: Apply
New Player: wait second pls
Sonja:  Most serious woe guilds have a guild website and an application process
Sonja: Apply in the guild forum’s Application section
New Player: wht is /bm for?
New Player: understand
New Player: understand
New Player: dont*
Sonja:  /bm makes your letter keys into hotkeys
Sonja:  so F1 bar becomes z x c v b n m
Sonja: the bottom row of letters
New Player: ´hmm
New Player: hmm
Sonja: to talk while in /bm use space bar or enter to open the chat
New Player: hoo
New Player: ok
New Player: ^^
Sonja: and then press enter when done
Sonja:  to end/start battlemode press /bm
New Player: why cant you be frozen or stone cursed?
Sonja: hmm?
New Player: frozen or stone cursed?
New Player: cant
New Player: why
Sonja: Marc card stops frozen
Sonja: ED card stops SC
Sonja: ED = Evil druid
New Player: hmm
Sonja: you leave people who SC/Freeze because it takes longer to unfreeze/SC than it takes to die and come back again
Sonja: plus people that do Freeze/SC are probably wearing GR (ghostring)
Sonja: and won’t be killed except by asura when frozen/SC
Sonja: Frozen turns armor property to water
Sonja: Stone curse turns armor into earth
Sonja: negating the ghost property
New Player: lol beret for wht?
New Player: thats good?
New Player: i though wasnt
Sonja: beret is for overall reduction of damage from demi human source
Sonja: 10%
Sonja: (Angelic tiara and Baahls are better - 15%)
Sonja: depends on class though
Sonja: only HW, Champ, and Creos can sacrifice survival enough for stat helm
Sonja: read the Paradox War of Emperium guide
Sonja: since you’re intent is to pump int as HW (no not dex) int
New Player: and dex
New Player: ho
New Player: ok
New Player: evil tiara wht do ? dont remember—
Sonja: it’s for melee people
Sonja: ET doesn’t apply to magic
Sonja: look up the donates on feelro.nu
Sonja: …
New Player: i saw
New Player: to champ wht i need?
New Player: morpheus equip
Sonja: it’s all in the Paradox Woe Guide
Sonja: no.
Sonja: not morph
New Player: no?
Sonja: not in woe

Sonja: maybe a couple pieces
New Player: xD
Sonja: read the dang guide
New Player: ty for help ^^
Sonja: there’s a whole champ section
Sonja: yw
New Player: thx a lot
Sonja: *peace sign*

Other FAQ of Ragnarok not covered in the Interview:
Q: How do I make a guild?
A: You need an Emperium and then you type in /guild “Guild Name”

Q: How do I use a custom emblem for my guild?
A: This can be tricky if you don’t know what to do. First, the Emblem must be a 24 x 24 pixel image in the .bmp (bitmap) format. In the RO folder, make a folder named Emblem. Put the Emblem you want to use into the Emblem folder. In game open your guild information screen, click the edit button, and select the emblem you want to use. For help on how to create a cool looking emblem read this post at the RO Empire Forums.

Q: How do I delete a guild?
A: First, only the current guild master can break a guild. Expel everyone from guild and then type in /breakguild “Guild Name”

Q: How do I leave a guild?
A: Open the guild screen with Alt G. Find your name in the List of members, right click your name, choose the option to leave guild. It will ask you for a reason, it’s common courtesy to tell them why you are leaving.

Q: Where do I level (class here) at (number) level?
A: Read my leveling guide, I get tired of repeating myself.

Q: How do I get to (such and such) dungeon?
A: Read my Map Access Guide.

Q: What does ks mean?
A: KS is kill stealing. This is more than just rude, it’s illegal on many servers. Some servers have the command @noks

Q: What is a bot? Is botting allowed?
A: Lazy players set up programs to run their character to hunt or do other tasks. Botting is illegal on most servers.

Q: Heal, Zeni, Items please?
A: No, get it yourself everyone else has to do it. Here’s a link to my Money Making Guide.

Q: I shared my equips with this random person and now I can’t find him, what do I do?
A: Don’t fall for scams. Don’t share stuff with people. If you do share with others you can try to screenshot the deal and chat, but it’s all up to the GMs of your server. Report the person, and if you don’t have a screenshot then you’re screwed.

Q: How do I auto-follow?
A: The character you wish to auto-follow with must have /nc turned off. If you turn it off you will have to start auto-followtwice. Hold shift and right click the person you wish to auto-follow, a small triangle will appear over their head and you will follow them. Remember if it doesn’t work: turn off /nc and click twice to autofollow.

Q: How do I stop lagging so much?
A: There are a few ways to reduce lag. Use the command /effect to turn on and off your effects. Use the command /aura to simplify auras. If these don’t work you can go into the RO Folder > Setup.exe. The Setup has options for sprite detail and texture. Turning these down will help reduce lag, but make the characters blotchy and ugly.

Q: The ground went white, can I fix it without relogging?
A: Yes, use the command /lightmap to fix it.

Q: What do these mean: B>, S>, T>, A>, N>, R>, AFK
A: Buy, Sell, Trade, Auction, Need, Recruiting, Away From Keyboard

Q: How do I create (such and such item)?
A: There is a specific skill you need based on class and specific items to use as ingredients. Follow the instructions in theRMS Creation Database.

Most Common Terms:
NPC: Non Player Characters, they open a pop up dialog box when you click on them with pre-set responses or set items they sell. You can also sell items to an NPC to make money. There are useless filler NPCs with no purpose, Quest NPCs which will open a dungeon or give you a needed item, Vending NPCs which buy and sell goods, informative NPCs, and basic game mechanic NPCs. The basic game mechanic NPCs are Healer, Town Warper, Dungeon Warper, Stylist, Class Change, Resetter, Platinum Skill NPC, etc.
Town Map: Maps that have Kafra and many other NPCs and no aggressive monsters. (Do I really have to define a town?)
Field Map: The World Map shows Field Maps only. To access a Dungeon, you must first travel through the correct field map in most cases (there are some short-cuts but it costs zeni).
Dungeon Map: This does not appear on the World Map. The entrances are accessed via Field Maps. Though usually “underground,” this is not always the case.
Drops: Items that the monsters “drop”. If your server does not have @autoloot 100 automatically set, the monster will drop your items on the ground. If you want to change the percentage of dropped items you keep to 50%, type the command @autoloot 50. I suggest keeping all your drops and then sell everything, except for: Equipment, Healing Items, and Cards.
Equipment: An item that can be worn by your character, found in the second tab of your inventory Alt E. Alt Q will bring up your “gear” or “equip” screen. Gear can be obtained by killing the right monster or buying from another Player or NPC.
Healing Items: An item in the first tab of inventory that can be consumed to heal hit points or spell points. Certain special “consumables” can increase a stat or give a skill your class might not have. For example, Authoritative Badges provide the Priest buff Increase Agility.
Card: An item in the third tab of inventory. It can be put on to a specific kind of equipment to enhance your skills, stats, or provide an additional bonus.
Epic Fail, Phail, FTL: For the Loss. Basically, “You suck” in internet lingo.
FTW: For the Win! Basically, “You rule” in internet lingo.
Powned, pwn3d, pwnd, pwnt: I believe this was derived from power and owned, it means, “You just got your butt kicked.”
Noob: A new player that many experienced gamers look down on. They will often make many mistakes at crucial moments and fail to listen to organized commands.
Pro: Power gamers who play their game with almost religious faith and on a daily basis. They will usually - but not always - have little to no real life social skills.
IRL, irl: In Real Life
Emp: The Emperium of the Castle must be defended or the castle will be taken by an enemy guild. It has only one real location in game despite that it takes up four spaces. Only cast safety wall on the top right space of the Emp. Sanctuary and Slim Potion Pitcher will heal the Emp.
Emp Room: The inner most room of the castle which contains the Emp. Usually the bulk of the defense is set up in this room.
Spawn Point: The spot next to a portal on the map where your character appears. You can abuse the spawn point if you know how.
Precast: The ledge or area furthest from the Spawn Point from which High Wizards and Creators can “cast” on enemies. The idea is to kill them as soon as they enter the room, on the spawn point.
AoE: Area of Effect, a skill that hits more than one square or target.
WoE: War of Emperium. A battle to hold a castle against enemies to obtain the treasures in the treasure room.

How to record your game

I. the Program

If you want to record something, you have many programs to do that. I advise you to use Fraps

II. How to use

Install it where you want and open it. you have to see that:

Open it. you see this:

Go to movie tab:

Now, you have to select one key who will start and stop the recording.
the fps is the future quality of the video, but warning, if you chose an high FPS, your video, even short, will be very very heavy.

After, you choose where you want to save your movie.

PS: when you recording YOU HAVE TO PLAY IN FULL SCREEN MODE otherwise you cant record anything.

Means to know if you'r recording or not:

if you click in F12, you can see that:

if you click again, he can change his place,
if you click again, he can go.

when the number is yellow, this means you are not recording at this time.

when the number his red, this means you are recording at this moment.

The number correspond at you capacity when you are recording. when you're recording, the lesser the number means the more lag your game will become. So, if your number is close to zero, better not record anymore because it will only cause you to lag so much.

How to make RO work Faster, Fixing Lag issues

For some time now, there have been some videos floating around on several sites of players from Japan that have partly solved one of the big issues RO has: the general tendancy for monsters and players to appear in places other than where they are when being damaged.

This is what your RO probably looks like right now:

This is caused by a TCP/IP feature used in windows by default known as the Nagle Algorithm. This feature allows windows to delay the transmission of TCP packets in order to save bandwidth by grouping packets into a single transmission. This can cause the aknowledgment of a TCP transmission to be delayed by up to 200 ms, by default.

In RO, the game server does not send the client certain information (such as movement of monsters or players) untill the previous transmission has been aknowledged by your client, among other similar issues. By disabling the windows feature that allows this, your RO should look more like this:

Disabling this option is a very simple process, and completly legitment as it is modification only of your own operating system. Do note that in theory, doing this could cause other network related programs to function less well, but I have not had any issues with it, and it is an easily reversable process.

The following method is for XP Pro SP 2 or later. This works with Vista SP 1 or later as well, but has a slightly difference process for step 1 which was posted by Artimus here.

Step 1: Install Microsoft Message Queuing

Open your window's Add/Remove programs and select Add/Remove Window's Components

From here, find Message Queuing and ensure it is installed. This service is necessary to change the default window settings.

Step 2: Set TcpAckFrequency

Open your registry by running regedt32 and find the key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Param eters\Interfaces\\

You can determine which Adapter ID is the correct one by looking for your IP Address listed on the right pane.

In the correct Adapter, add the DWord TcpAckFrequency and set the value equal to 1.

(How to add a new registry value:)

This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 989x467.

Now browse to the registry key:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters\

Add a DWord TcpNoDelay and set the value equal to 1.

This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 989x467.

Step 3: Restart MSMQ services

Now that the correct registry settings have been made, you have to restart the services controlling these settings (or reboot your computer)

To restart the services, run services.msc and browse to the Message Queuing service. Select it, and hit the restart service button.

At this point everything should be set correctly and you should be able to enjoy a slightly more responsive in game experience.

Tips to Adding Friends

There are several ways to add someone to your Friends List. The method below, allows you to add someone to your Friends List without the need to be on the same screen. You don't need to click on him/her. All you need is just a name.

1. CTRL + I to bring up Friend Setup. ("I" as in Igloo) Check the box "Open 1.1 Chat not between Friends"

2. Type the person's name you wish to add in the Message box (bottom left) and type a simple message. Then press Enter.

3. A Chatbox will pop up with his/her name.

4. Right click on the top bit of the Chatbox (illustrated as the light blue bar), and select "Register as a Friend"

5. Congratulations. You have added a new Friend on your list.

Guide to catching Pets!

Below is the eAthena script for taming a pet

pet_catch_rate = (pet_db.capture + (sd->status.base_level - md->level)*30 + sd->battle_status.luk*20)*(200 - get_percentage(md->status.hp, md->status.max_hp))/100

Source: http://svn.eathena.ws/svn/ea/trunk/src/map/pet.c

In English, it simply means:
Success Chance in % = (Base Capture Chance + (Player Base Level - Monster Level)*30 + Luk*20)*(2 - [Monster HP rate])/100

whereby Monster HP Rate is 1 if the monster has full HP ,0.5 on half HP,etc...

Recommendation
1. Use a high level character

2. Have lots of LUK - I normally use my Turn Undead Priest with Gloria

3. Weaken the target monster (Pokemon style)

4. Pray

Upgrading guides

The upgrading system allows you to upgrade the ability of your current weapon (more Atk) or armor (more Def). Every player's dream is to have the best equipment possible for their character. For this, you'll need perseverance and alot of luck.

Most people go to Prontera's upgrade shop since it's the easiest one to access. To visit the upgrade shop in Prontera, enter the building south-east from the center (red dot).

There is also an upgrade shop in Morroc, Payon, Alberta and Yuno. Inside Prontera's upgrade shop, you'll find 4 NPCs. I'll explain what each of them can do for you.

Vurewell sells Phracon (200z) and Emveretarcon (1000z). These metals are used to upgrade level 1 and level 2 weapons.

Dietrich can refine metals for you. Oridecon is used to refine level 3 and level 4 weapons. Elunium is used to refine armor. You cannot buy Oridecon and Elunium from an NPC, you must buy it from other players or find it yourself. Oridecon and Elunium can be found in pure form or rough form (Rough Oridecon and Rough Elunium). Dietrich will exchange you 1 Elunium if you give him 5 Rough Elunium, and 1 Oridecon if you give him 5 Rough Oridecon.

Grendal can fix broken equipment for you. He will charge 1 Steel and 5000z, regardless of your equipment. There are situations where you can have your weapon\armor break (from Meltdown for example). Once broken, your equipment will become unusable and have its name in red. You need to fix it to be able to use it again.

Weapon Repair
Blacksmiths and Whitesmiths can also repair broken equipment with the skill Weapon Repair. They do not need to equip it, they can repair anything. You don't need money, an Iron Hammer or an anvil to use this skill but you do need the right metal.
Weapon lvl 1 - Iron Ore
Weapon lvl 2 - Iron
Weapon lvl 3 - Steel
Weapon lvl 4 - Rough Oridecon
Armor - Steel
It's always better to have a BS\WS you trust to repair for you.

Hollengrhen is the main man, he can upgrade equipment for you. You need to have the item equipped, have the right metal and need to pay an upgrade fee.
Here is what you will need.

You can only upgrade equipment that your character can wear.
You cannot upgrade headgear that is worn on Mid or Lower such as Fin Helm and Iron Cain, or accessories.
You can upgrade equips to a maximum of +10.

Once an item is refined to its maximum safety level, there is a risk you need to take if you want to over-upgrade it. If you attempt to upgrade it past its maximum safety level, the item could be lost forever! If the confirmed item is to be upgraded past the safe limit, then you will be given a warning and a chance to quit without any cost.

If you succeed in upgrading, a 'SUCCESS' message will display and the item will have a +1 added to it. If the upgrade fails, a 'FAILURE' message will display and the item, Zeny used and any cards in the slots of the item will all be destroyed completely, so please be aware.

No stats or anything else other than Weaponry Research will affect your success chances. All upgrading NPCs are equal and not one of them gives you better results, but people might prefer to upgrade in a certain town because they're superstitious.

I suggest not to over-upgrade an item that you want to wear without having a backup replacement. For example, I wouldn't try to +6 a Helm if I didn't have an extra +5 Helm to wear.

Weaponry Research
Blacksmiths/Whitesmiths have a skill called Weaponry Research which increases their upgrading success rate by 1% per level (max level 10). The extra 10% success rate comes in handy, but can only work on equipment this character can wear. Always try to use a BS\WS for overupgrading equipment they can wear.

Upgrading success
Maximum safety levels (All upgrades up to these levels will succeed):
Weapon lvl 1, +7
Weapon lvl 2, +6
Weapon lvl 3, +5
Weapon lvl 4, +4
Armor, +4

Add +10% success to all attempts if you are using level 10 Weaponry Research.
Upgrading weapons
An overupgraded weapon will have a hidden ATK bonus that is not displayed on your ATK stat. For example, a hit with a +8 Lance (lvl 3, 185 atk), my ATK would be 185+40+(a random number between 1 and 24).

+8 | 5.6 | 20%
+9 | 6.3 | 20%
+10 | 7.0 | 10%

Weapon Refine
Weapon Refine is a skill that only Whitesmiths have. It allows you to upgrade weapons without an NPC and with a bonus success rate. It works similarly to Weapon Repair. You don't need money, a hammer or an anvil to use this skill but you do need the right metal.
Weapon lvl 1 - Iron Ore
Weapon lvl 2 - Iron
Weapon lvl 3 - Steel
Weapon lvl 4 - Rough Oridecon

Only the job level of the Whitesmith affects the bonus success.
Job level 40: -5%
Job level 50: +0%
Job level 60: +5%
Job level 70: +10%

Every level of the skill lets you upgrade up to a certain level (at level 10, you can upgrade up to +10). The Weaponry Research skill does not apply. You can upgrade any weapon (Katars, Spears, Bows..). You cannot upgrade armor. Don't upgrade if your job level is under 50 (negative success rate). It's great to overupgrade any weapon and have a 10% (job level 70) bonus success rate. Remember to only have a Whitesmith you trust upgrade for you.

How to Summon MVPs??

Ever had a bad day because everyone's been killing all the mvps because they timed it? Do you want to have a bigger chance in getting thos Awesome MVP card? Well, what most people don't know is that you can actually do that with the prof's ABRACADABRA!

Now, The best thing to do is to have 2 players, because then you can dispell eachother once you get annoying skills like steel body or trick dead. (If you do it alone, you'll have to relog a lot to get rid of it.

Here is a simple mini-guide to Hocus Pocus!

1. Make a sage with abracadabra level 8. and yes, leave it at level 8.
Why?
Because for every 2 levels or something, you get a new "????" skill. Once you get it to level 8, the "class change" skill adds. So, if you max it (10), you'll have another chance with that skill. And thats "Level up" (And you won't need that..) So. If you leave it at level 8 there's a slightly bigger chance you'll get "Class change" instead of something else, when you get the "????" skill.
Then, each time you use the skill it will cost 2 yellow gemstones. To make it down to 1 gemstone/skill, you have to get bard/dancer duet with the gemstone song, OR slot a mistress card in one of your headgears. Both works. You can buy yellow gemstones at the npc in Ostia.

2. How?
Basicly you just spam it untill you get the "????" skill, be careful once you get it. Because if you click it away, it's gone. So you should always have a monster close to use it on, what I normally use are mushrooms summoned by a Creator. And remember, it wont always be "class change", there's also "Taming monster", "fortune", "death" and "monocell". But if you're lucky~ :3

A smart move is to have a champ on the map, and asura the MvP you get, unless its ghost. Then just fill it up with SP and log it out at the same place when you're done.

3. Where? Try find a small map. (Since many MvP's enjoy teleporting) I usually do it on the sunken ship map myself, because it's so small. (And it got a kafra on it for items). You can do it inside buildings but you will have a difficult time when it teleports. Try doing it on less populated areas.

Anyways, this is a nice way to summon some rare mvp's, I do it a lot on every server I play on. It's fun when you're 2, then you can chat and stuffs while you're doing it. :3 Hope you find the guide useful.

How to Improve Character Builds with RagState

If you are confused on what kind of build you want to follow, whatever class it is, whether it's your entire build or skill-tree orientation to work with other classes - make a thread in this section. Don't waste a potential woe character, don't be afraid to ask.

http://chanywa.com/ragsim/ragstate/

CHANGE TO ENGLISH TRANSLATION
1. start RagState
2. Options
3. click on "English",
4. then click on the right button which means translated "ok"

press job to change ur job
double click on the equipment to use it
scroll up with ur mouse wheel for upgrading ur stuff
same with stats/base lvl/job lvl etc just use ur mouse wheel

ragstate the most convenient but for accurate damage calculating for pvp/woe use

What you didn't know about stun

STUN GUIDE
Know your shit.

Table of contents. Lol.
WHAT DOES THIS THREAD SAY?
Too much

- BASIC IMMUNITIES!

- YOU CAN'T ADD THEM LIKE THAT!

- STUN FORMULA IN ALGEBRA FORM D:!

- WHAT STUNS IN WOE?

- WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT STUN?

- WHATS THE BEST OPTION?

- FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE TO READ ;]

- ^ If you just want that formula to be able to calc. your stun cuz you hate reading then just go to the end.
I have the easy formula version at the end of the post.

====================================

BASIC IMMUNITIES!
<3 - 97 Vit****
- 300 Luk (good luck ever getting 300 Luk...)
- Armor/Card >=100% (Ex: valk armor(50)+flame skull card(30) + stalactic golem card(20))
- Orc Hero Card
- Gospel Status Buff - One of the Gospel Buffs will give you an immunity to statuses for 1 minute

****97 vit is the stun immunity because its [total vit +3].
So with 97 total vit, +3 = 100%
Or with 47 total vit, +3 = 50%

No consumable will remove Stun.
Some skills like Status Recovery can remove it though.

Unless you reach one of the actual "Stun Immunities," you cannot reach stun immunity no matter how high you get all the stun resists.

Even if you have 95 total Vit (98% stun resist)
If you had a Valk Armor on top of that, it is still possible to get stunned.
Valk Armor would make you have 99% resist. If you don't understand why, you'll understand after the next section.

====================================

YOU CAN'T ADD THEM LIKE THAT!
fail

Basically if you have 50% stun resist from Vit and you put on Valk Armor (50% stun resist) you don't get 100%.
It would instead increase your total stun resist to 75%. Luk applies in the same manner.

100%-[Vit's % reduction]-[Luk's % reduction from chance after Vit]-[Armor/Card's % reduction from chance after Vit+Luk]= Total Stun Chance

Skills chance of inflicting Stun comes into play as well. Since player skills that can cause stun are not 100% success rates.

Ex:
Vit reduction is 80% (77 total vit) ---------------------- This Vit reduces the chance to stun to 20%
Luk reduction is 50% (150 total luk) ------------------- This Luk will reduce that further to 10%
Armor/Card reduction is 50% (ex: valk armor) -------- This Armor/Card will reduce it further to 5% stun chance

Because they don't stack straight on top of each other, something like:

100%-[80%]-[50%]-[50%]= 5% stun chance
Can be true.

The formula is actually played out like this instead:

100% reduced [80%]= 20%
20% reduced [50%]= 10%
10% reduced [50%]= 5%

====================================

STUN FORMULA IN ALGEBRA FORM D:!
Math...

Pretty Version
(X) - (Y) - (Z) = total stun chance

(X) =vit reduction
(Y) =Luk reduction
(Z) =Armor/Card reduction

Ugly version of stun formula
97-[Total Vit]+[(97-[Total Vit])*(Luk/300)]+[(97-[Total Vit])-([97-(Total Vit)]*[Luk/300])*(Armor/Card %)= Total Stun Chance

Its ugly to look at as a whole so i'll break it up to make it simpler to see.

97 - [total vit] = (X)

(X) * (luk/300) = (Y)

(X-Y) * (Armor/Card % total)= (Z)

Which brings me back to the pretty version

(X) - (Y) - (Z) = total stun chance

If you calc out what (X) equals, then you can put that in the formula for (Y).
Same if you calc out (X) and (Y), you can put those in the formula for (Z).

Once you have the numbers for (X), (Y), and (Z) you can put them into the easy math formula of (X) - (Y) - (Z) = ?

Here's an example.
Say you have 70 total Vit, 8 total Luk, and 32% total resist gear (meteor plate(30%) and dark blinder(2%))

(X) = 97 - [70]
(X) = 27

(Y) = (27) * (8/300)
(Y) = 0.72

(Z) = (27 - 0.72) * (32%)
(Z) = (26.28) * (.32)
(Z) = 8.4096

Vit ---- Luk -- Armor/Card
(27) - (.72) - (8.4096)
Total Stun Chance = 17.8704
70 Vit, 8 Luk, 32% resist = 17.87% total stun chance

Another example,
71 Vit, 10 Luk, 7% resist = 23.374% total stun chance

Note:I round sometimes, so if you're off by a tenth or a couple hundredths or w/e, don't worry about it. I probably rounded something being lazy with microsoft calculator. Lol.

QUOTE (INFERNUS)
"Base level" will slightly lower the chance of Stun being inflicted". - http://irowiki.org/wiki/Status_Effects#Stun
Wikipedia is never wrong.
Remember kids, wikipedia is never wrong.

....

If you want to figure out the chance of someone stunning you with some skill/gear/cards, just multiply the chance the skill/gear/cards has to stun you vs. your total stun chance.
If the chance a skill has is 50% (Ex: Scream) and your total stun chance is 20% then:

(50%) * (20%) = 10%

or you can look at it like:

(.50) * (.2) = .100

Here is a pic of the stun chart vs. Vit only stun resistance.
Stun Table

Example:
70% stun chance vs. 50 Vit
[(100 -[50 +3])=47% Vit stun chance]
So, (70%) * (47%)
(.7)*(.47)=.329 or 33%

Again, that Stun Table has only the Vit side of the stun formula.

====================================

STUN IN WOE?
Unheard of.

In WoE you will be stunned from various different classes that all have different stun chances. You'll experience more stun in SE than in FE.
Stun chance coming from players aren't 100% to happen even if you have no resistance.

For example a Gypsy's Scream(Dazzler) is a 50% chance success rate at max level.

What does this mean towards your Total Stun Chance?

As in the example of a Total Stun Chance I calculated in the previous section, 17.8704% chance to be stunned. If A gypsy was to do 1 Scream at a player with this stun chance, since Scream is 50% chance, it would only have a chance to stun that player at 8.9352%.
If you was to put stun in a ratio for a gypsy, to stun this char, it would be 1 in 11.12 screams. So on average, with this stun chance you would expect to stun once every 11 screams. Technically. Luck has no calculation i'm afraid sad.gif
1 in 11 Screams sounds good but if you had 5~ Gypsys on your screen doing 2 screams a second, it wouldn't be that great.

There are many things that can cause stun in WoE though.

Blue = Commonly experienced
Red = Meh, possible
Green = Who the fuck uses this shit?

Skills:
Gypsy - Scream - 50% stun chance
SinX - Sonic Blow - 30% stun chance
Whitesmith - Cart Termination - 50% stun chance (you see this more in FE than in SE)
High Wizard - Meteor Storm - 30% stun chance
Crusader - Smite - 40% stun chance
Swordie Classes - Bash - 25% stun chance (I think its 25, don't really care cuz who uses Bash?)

Equips/Cards:
Doom Slayer[1](weapon) = Chance to stun, 30%, when receiving physical damage. (Base STR >= 95)
Great Axe[0](weapon) = 15% chance to stun.
Stunner[2](weapon) = 10% chance to stun.
Wrench[0](weapon) = Chance to randomly inflict stun, blind, poison, freeze statuses with each attack.
Star Dust Blade[1](weapon) = 5% stun chance.
Book of Charms Vol. 1[1](shield) = Chance to stun when receiving physical damage. (Guessing its about 10% chance?)
Mythical Lion Mask[1](headgear) = 10% chance to stun when attacking. (Taekwon class)
Stun Arrow(arrow) = "Inflict the stun status on targets by a low chance."

Flame Skull Card(shield) = Chance to cause stun when user receives short physcial damage.
Majoruros Card(armor) = 6% chance to stun when receiving damage
Rybio Card(armor) = 9% chance to stun when receiving damage (Base Dex >= 77)
Lord of Death Card(weapon) = 5% chance to stun.
Savage Babe Card(weapon) = 5% chance to stun.
Skeleton Card(weapon) = 2% chance to stun. (LOL)

If you want me to add more skills/items that cause stun just ask.
I might of missed some since I tend to not care about stun since i'm perma immune sad.gif

====================================

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT STUN?
Cry.

In terms of how to help reduce your stun.
Vit > Armor/Card

Yes, if you get something like OH Card. Then its a little different. You could reroll your char to build it to an OH Card.
But I base this simply because Vit helps not only your stun but also increases your HP, and increases your resists to other statuses as well.
Also Armor/Card only reduce the % thats left after Vit/Luk. Meaning their resist is less than what its description is. (unless you have 0 vit and 0 luk somehow...)

There are a few armors that can help resist your stun a good bit on top of what your vit already reduces. Unfortunately, Luk is just an utter failure.

Do not use Luk thinking you'll help your stun resistance since it sucks horribly.

How to help my chance vs. Stun?

First thing to do to help your stun = Vit Food. I'm sure everyone already knows this though.
+7 Vit food. Everyone should be using it. Its basically like a +7% resist. This adds to your total Vit so its calc'd into your base stun resist, unlike Luk/Armor/Cards resists.

Second thing to do to help your stun = Armor resists.
Not everyone can wear these so you just need to find out which is the best armor that you're able to use.

Heres a small list of the stun resist gear/cards:

Valk Armor[1](armor) = 50% resist (thief, merchant, swordie classes)
Meteor Plate[1](armor) = 30% resist (high merch, high swordie classes)
Divine Clothes[1](armor) = 5% resist (rebirth classes, cept high novice)
Dark Blinder(mid headgear) = 2% resist (all cept novice)

Orc Hero Card(headgear) = 100% resist
Stalactic Golem Card(headgear) = 20% resist
Gemini-S58 Card(headgear) = 30% resist (Base Agility >= 90)
Flame Skull Card(shield) = 30% resist

Cards are very good at resisting stun. Alas in terms of WoE they destory your demi-human reductions.
Taking away your Feather Beret and Thara Frog Card for example is something you don't want to do.
Stick to Equipment type resists. (OH can be worth the loss of Feather Beret though if your char is built around the card)

Rosaries do add +1 Luk... but it might be better to go with an accessory that helps a stat that you have really high. Since saving 1 stat in the 9x's is 11 stat points you can put towards another stat.
Unfortunately as far as actually helping your stun resist when you already have a lot of resist, small numbers of luck won't do anything.
For example, +1 luk when you already have 80% resist from your vit means you gain 0.06% stun resist. The +3 MDEF is useful though.

'Should I try to get some Luk since I have low Vit?'
You shouldn't waste points into Luk if you can still put points into Vit.
1 Vit = -1% Total stun chance no matter what your resist is.
1 Luk = -0.3% if you have 0% resist
1 Luk = -0.15% if you have 50% resist
1 Luk = -0.06% if you have 80% resist
So as you can see Luk will not help you really at all in terms of reducing your stun compared to Vit.
I wish for every point you go over Vit immunity you got +1% chance to stun players when receiving damage sad.gif

'Would gloria help those with low Vit?'
Gloria = +30 Luk

30/300 Luk = 10% Luk resist

If you have 80% resist already from Vit, then 30/300 Luk would increase your stun resist to 82%. If you have 90% resist from Vit then Gloria would increase your resist by 1%. The more Vit you get, the less Luk will help.
If you only have 50% resist from Vit, you have a problem, then gloria would make your resist go up to 55%.

So yes, gloria technically does help. Gloria isn't something that should be used though since it just wastes our HPs time. If they don't have strings they get fucked for 3s. I guess they could use gloria before walking into a precast for that few seconds of assistance. "Every little bit helps..."
As far as field battle goes though they have enough of a job already.

'What about farming Luk Food?'

Even If you farm +9 Luk Food, it won't help you enough for the amount of time you wasted on it.
9/300 Luk is +3% resist. Again, +3% luk resist on 80% resist from Vit will only increase it to 80.6%. Not worth the farming time.

Of course there will always be the people that say "Every little bit helps!"
Technically they're right but its usually not worth the effort.

====================================

WHATS THE BEST OPTION?
Drop out of school. You obviously need more time for your addictions.
(i'm kidding D:)

If you're unable to get at least 80% Vit reduction, (77 Total Vit w/ +7 Vit food)
Either get a Valk Armor, Meteor Plate, or if you can't wear/benefit from those use Divine Clothes.
You will be raped in SE if you have lower than 80% Vit reduction without the help of something like Valk Armor.
Just do what you can to deal with it.

If you're between 80% and 90% Vit reduction, I would suggest to try to use some armors to up your stun resist.
You won't necessarily be raped in SE but you will find Stun rather annoying.

90%+ Vit reduction = Valk Armor would take it to 95%, Meteor Plate would take it to 93%. As you can see the big armor resists start to not help that much. So you don't need to worry about them that much. Stun isn't that big of a problem with high resist anyway.

Best option is of course to just go for stun immunity ;]

FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE TO READ ;]
I make essays. I don't read them <3

1.) Find (X),
2.) Put (X), into 2nd formula and find (Y),
3.) Put (X), (Y), into 3rd formula and find (Z),
4.) Put (X), (Y), (Z), into final formula and you'll know your stun chance.

1.) 97 - [total vit] = (X)

2.) (X) * (luk/300) = (Y)

3.) (X-Y) * (Armor/Card % total)= (Z)

4.) (X) - (Y) - (Z) = Total Stun Chance
